It’s the last WWW of 2020! Wow!

What are you currently reading?

I am currently reading The Fifth Season by N.K. Jemisin again. Looking forward to finishing the rest of the trilogy this time. This is a really cool book that blends sci-fi and fantasy!

What did you recently finish reading?

I finished The Midnight Library!! It’s such a wonderful book I highly recommend it. Definitely one of my faves of all time. You can see more in my review.

What do you think you’ll read next?

I’m getting Exciting Times today so I’ll probably read that next. It’s described as being like Normal People so I’m really excited to see what it’s all about. Exciting times. Ha.

What do you think of these choices? I am so excited to make more progress on my to be read.

Let me know what you’ve been reading this week! How are you all doing? I can’t believe 2020 is almost over, March feels like yesterday.

Hi friends, it’s time for WWW Wednesday again. So, what’s it about? This meme was formerly hosted by MizB at A Daily Rhythm and revived on Taking on a World of Words. Here are my answers to the three Ws!

It’s been a while since I checked in with a WWW! How are we doing?

What are you currently reading?

I am currently reading Written in the Stars for my book club. I’ve read the first third, it’s been OK so far. I don’t love the characters so far but the main couple did an escape room as a double date and it was adorable. Also the cover is super cute.

What did you recently finish reading?

I recently finished A Court of Mist and Fury for the second time. I forgot how much I enjoyed how easy it is to read Sarah J Maas books, and this is definitely my favourite in the trilogy. Rhys is so soft and cute, I love the romance in this one. I’ll definitely be reading the next book again soon.

What do you think you’ll read next?

I’m not really sure what’s next for me. I still didn’t get around to reading the eARC of We Hunt the Flame (I tried but the formatting is super off – words have no spaces between them and it’s really annoying). Maybe I’ll just buy the book because the second one has no issues with formatting.

Hi friends, it’s time for WWW Wednesday again. So, what’s it about? This meme was formerly hosted by MizB at A Daily Rhythm and revived on Taking on a World of Words. Here are my answers to the three Ws!

Sorry I’ve been so quiet again! So my interview last week was disrupted by internet issues, and it was supposed to be today but had to be re-arranged. I’ve been a little bit tired with all of this, along with the fact work has been a bit chaotic!

What are you currently reading?

I am currently reading The Mask Falling by Samantha Shannon. I read the previous books recently so I’m really excited to have this eARC from NetGalley. I am enjoying it so far, it’s just Paige an Warden hanging out at the moment but I can tell it’s going to pick up soon.

What did you recently finish reading?

My latest finish is Raybearer by Jordan Ifueko! I finished this book earlier today after putting it on pause for a while. It’s a really interesting YA fantasy with unique world-building. My interest dipped a little about halfway through which is why it took so long but the beginning and end are really good.

What do you think you’ll read next?

I think I’m going to read We Hunt the Flame by Hafsah Faizal next. I got an eARC of this book along with its sequel so excited to see what it’s all about as a lot of the people I follow on twitter are big fans.

What do you think of these choices? I am so excited to make more progress on my to be read.

Let me know what you’ve been reading this week! How are you all doing? It feels like so long since I posted, I’m really sorry!!!

Hi friends, it’s time for WWW Wednesday again. So, what’s it about? This meme was formerly hosted by MizB at A Daily Rhythm and revived on Taking on a World of Words. Here are my answers to the three Ws!

What are you currently reading?

I am currently reading Master of Crows by Grace Draven. It sounded like something I’d like to read during this slight slump I’m in (I blame all the amazing books I read in October). I’m enjoying it so far!

What did you recently finish reading?

Recently finished an eARC of Just the Two of Us, a romance that follows the grump and sunshine trope that I love so much. This was honestly I surprisingly cute story about an intense doctor and a chef. It’s very slow-burn and ends on a cliffhanger which is really really frustrating for a romance novel!

What do you think you’ll read next?

No idea. I finally hit my reading wall of 2020 – I might read The Awakening by Nora Roberts. It seems cool and I’ve never really read any books by Nora Roberts even though she has published LOADS.

What do you think of these choices? I am so excited to make more progress on my to be read.

Hi friends, it’s time for WWW Wednesday again. So, what’s it about? This meme was formerly hosted by MizB at A Daily Rhythm and revived on Taking on a World of Words. Here are my answers to the three Ws!

What are you currently reading?

I am currently reading Raybearer. I’ve only read a couple of chapters after a busy weekend, but I really like the concept so far and I can’t wait to see where it goes.

What did you recently finish reading?

The last book I finished was actually my really slow re-read of The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue. You all know how much I adore this book and it’s messages – I hope everyone who wants to read it gets to it soon! I also get my first illumicrate box today, I’ll have to do an unboxing post. I know the featured book is going to be Addie though! I can’t wait to see what they do with the cover design.

What do you think you’ll read next?

Trick decision. I have to get to reading my eARCs so I think I’m going to read The Love Curse of Melody McIntyre. Really excited to read this one!

Hi friends, it’s time for WWW Wednesday again. So, what’s it about? This meme was formerly hosted by MizB at A Daily Rhythm and revived on Taking on a World of Words. Here are my answers to the three Ws!

What are you currently reading?

I am currently reading Every Heart a Doorway. I am so intrigued so far, it’s a book about kids and teens who go through doors to other worlds and get kicked out, return home and wish they could go back to the places they could be themselves. The world building is really unique, and I can’t believe it is a novella because so much has happened and I’m only a third of the way through!

What did you recently finish reading?

I recently finished From Blood and Ash. It was good, but I wasn’t blown away or anything. I felt it was a bit too predictable, and didn’t get too attached to any of the characters. It did have a cool spin on vampires though, which I enjoyed, and the romance was good. The overall plot just didn’t do it for me.

What do you think you’ll read next?

This is tricky! I have no idea to be honest. I think I’m going to read The Lives of Saints by Leigh Bardugo (I’ve already read the beginning few stories but took a little break). This is such a gorgeous book and I like the art.

What do you think of these choices? I am so excited to make more progress on my to be read.

What are you currently reading?

I am currently reading Jade War by Fonda Lee. It’s the sequel to Jade City and I love it already. It’s honestly such a good series, Fonda Lee is an absolute genius who definitely knows how to write a gripping plot AND amazing characters.

What did you recently finish reading?

Naturally I just finished Jade City by Fonda Lee. From start to finish it is full of action, twists and turns with some of my favourite characters of all time. Lan, Hilo, Shae and Anden have my whole heart – you should definitely pick up this book and get to know these amazing siblings.

What do you think you’ll read next?

I wish I could say Jade Legacy but it’s not out for almost a year! I think I’ll try and read The Ravens by Kass Morgan and Danielle Page – I received the ARC on Monday and I can’t wait to see what it is all about. Sounds so cool. Witchy sorority? I’m all in.

What do you think of these choices? I am so excited to make more progress on my to be read.

In other news, I do not have COVID, so I’m back at work loving life. Hope everyone is doing well.

Hi friends, it’s time for WWW Wednesday again. So, what’s it about? This meme was formerly hosted by MizB at A Daily Rhythm and revived on Taking on a World of Words. Here are my answers to the three Ws!

What are you currently reading?

I am currently reading The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by V.E. Schwab….again! But this time, I have a gorgeous hardback instead of the eARC. I’m reading it really slowly, really noticing and absorbing all the messages. I have even put sticky tabs in for my favourite quotes! This book is heart-breaking and comforting all at the same time and I love it with everything I have.

What did you recently finish reading?

I just finished Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo for the second time. This time, I read it really slowly like I’m doing with Addie and honestly enjoyed it even more. Leigh’s show not tell world-building is exemplary. Galaxy Stern is one of my favourite characters and I really can’t wait to see where her story takes her in the next book. Do check out the trigger warnings – this one has a lot. You can check out my review if you want to.

What do you think you’ll read next?

I think I’m going to read From Blood and Ash, but that may change. I also really want to read The Broken Earth Trilogy and do a Jade City re-read since I just purchased Jade War. We will see where my mood takes me!

I am currently reading Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo. I absolutely love this book, and on this re-read I’m going slowly in order to take it all in. I’m a big fan of the protagonist, Alex Stern. She’s had such a rough life but is really doing the most. It is a. ADULT horror though, so don’t go into it without reading the trigger warnings as there’s plenty of graphic descriptions.

What did you recently finish reading?

Welcome to another of my favourite books of the year. It didn’t start too strongly for me but by the end it left me eagerly anticipating what happens next. The protagonist, El Higgins, is so easy to get behind. She’s got walls up for good reason, and she had really heart-warming character development during a tense, deadly plot. You can read my thoughts in my review, which has actually turned into one of my more popular reviews!

What do you think you’ll read next?

Okay, so I don’t often re-read books with this small of a gap in between, but I can’t help it with this one. Now I have a physical copy I am so excited to be absorbed in Addie and Henry’s world again. It’s also a Book Coven book club pick along with A Deadly Education so looking forward to discussing both of them with my friends.

I am currently reading These Violent Delights by Chloe Gong. It’s an interesting world with a lot of amazing social commentary. I’m having a few issues connecting to the characters – but I’ve still got half of the book left for things to improve. This is definitely a unique book even with it being a re-telling of Romeo and Juliet.

What did you recently finish reading?

I finished The Deathless Girls by Kiran Millwood Hargrave! It’s one of the most beautiful books (in appearance) ever, and the story is also a very, very good origin story for Dracula’s wives. I really love the way it dives into complicated relationships between sisters – Lil is a great protagonist. It also has an f/f romance! You can check out my review here.

What do you think you’ll read next?

A Deadly Education by Naomi Novik arrived yesterday so that’s absolutely on my next to read radar. It is my most anticipated read of 2020 and I honestly can’t wait to see what it’s all about!
